Why Mesa Families Are Ditching Big Furniture Stores for Sunset Sectionals
If you've ever spent a Saturday at a big-box furniture store, you know the drill — a pushy salesperson, a sea of couches you can't tell apart, and a delivery window that's somehow a three-week wait. We built Sunset Sectionals because we were tired of that experience too.
We're Billy and Trent, the two owners of Sunset Sectionals, and we do things a little differently here in Mesa.
We're Not a Typical Furniture Store
Sunset Sectionals is a sectional sofa specialist — that's all we do, and we do it well. Our showroom is located at 855 W University Dr, Suite 11 in Mesa, AZ, and we're open by appointment daily from 10am to 8pm so you always get our undivided attention when you walk through the door.
We didn't hire a store manager or a sales floor team to run this place. When you come in for a showing, you're meeting one of the owners. When your sectional gets delivered and set up in your living room, one of us is there handling it personally. That's not something you'll find at big box furniture.
Free Delivery, Installation & Old Furniture Removal — All Included
We offer free white-glove delivery and setup to anywhere within 40 miles of Mesa. That means we bring your new sectional in, place it exactly where you want it, and connect all the pieces.
But here's the part people love most: we take your old furniture with us when we leave.
No hauling it to the curb. No paying a junk removal service. No stressing about how to get rid of a 120-inch sectional. We handle it — at no extra charge.
This service covers the greater Phoenix area, including Tempe, Chandler, Gilbert, Scottsdale, Glendale, Peoria, Queen Creek, and beyond.
What We Do With Your Old Furniture (Because It Doesn't Belong in a Landfill)
When we pick up your old couch, we don't just toss it. If a piece is still in decent shape, we donate it. If it needs some work, we clean it up and give it a second life. Our goal is to keep furniture out of Arizona landfills as much as possible.
Furniture is one of the most common bulky waste items filling up landfills across the country — and most of it still has years of life left in it. We think that's a problem worth solving, one pickup at a time.
How We Source Our Furniture (And Why It Matters)
We travel to find our inventory personally — from furniture markets across the country to suppliers overseas. Whether a piece is made domestically or crafted in Vietnam, we're putting in the legwork to make sure it meets our standard before it ever hits our showroom floor.
That means every sectional has been evaluated for:
- Frame and cushion construction that holds up over years of real use
- Safe materials you can feel good about in a home with kids or pets
- Comfort you can feel the moment you sit down
A lot of furniture at big-box stores is sourced the same way — the difference is nobody there actually went and looked at it firsthand. We did. Our roots are in reselling pre-owned sectionals, so we've seen firsthand how furniture actually holds up over time — what breaks down, what lasts, and what's worth bringing into someone's home. That experience shaped how we buy today. We're not just pulling from a catalog and hoping for the best. We're selective, because our customers deserve better than a couch that sags after 12 months.
Save 20–50% Compared to Retail
Our model cuts out the middleman, which means you get a high-quality sectional at a fraction of what you'd pay at a traditional furniture store. Most of our customers save 20 to 50 percent compared to retail pricing — without sacrificing quality.
With financing options available and no pressure sales environment, you can take your time and find the right fit for your home and your budget.
Come See It In Person
Our showroom is appointment-based, which means no crowds, no waiting around, and no one hovering over your shoulder. Just a relaxed, honest conversation about what you're looking for and which sectional is going to work best for your space.
